I'm writing this from a remote locale known as the front porch. And it's not because it's nice outside or I like the breeze. My central a/c went out last night and it feels alot better out here than it does inside. I'm patiently waiting for the technician to come fix it. Now for your regularly scheduled programming.
I've gotten alot of crap from family, friends, co-workers, strangers over the breed of dog I choose to own. I have 2 pit bulls. Common reactions to this are: "oh my God, aren't you afraid they'll eat you in your sleep" "don't ever have kids" "you're not a gangsta, why do you need dogs like that" omg I'm never coming to your house" Get a life people, they are just dogs. It's all in how you raise them. Labs and other typical "family" breeds can bite just as frequently. It's like old Aunt Mabel's little yappy dog thats bit the mailman and all the grandkids but no one says anything because well, he only weighs 10 lbs.
I own pit bulls and I couldn't ask for a more faithful dog. My Boxer could care less what I do but you can bet my pit bull knows the difference in me leaving to go somewhere or just walking to the neighbors. When I walk out the door, she is right there waiting for me when I get back. She also knows where the puppy is at all times and will go looking for him if he gets too far. There have been nights where she's stayed awake watching the door when I've been home alone. She responds to my moods so well.
I'm going to step down from my soap box now and wait patiently for the air conditioner man to come fix my a/c. Thank God it's brand new and under warranty.
